Menopausal Bi-Polar Witch Babbling

Lakes Region Pagans had our monthly coffee get together at Borders in Gurnee yesterday. We had a pretty good turn out, of course, part of the group were a class in comparative religious studies from Trinity University. They were alright though. They asked good questions and listened. It made me think of how I grew up, religiously speaking. Baptized Lutheran as an infant, I went to a few different Sunday\Bible schools as a child. I started reading early, I could read before I went to kindergarten and I liked to ask questions.

1 - After Cain slew Able and was banished and made to wander, where did the other people come from? (Please don't send your daughter back, she is a disruption to class)

2 - How can you repopulate the planet with just two of each animal? And all the people are related, mom says that cousins can't marry! (Your daughter is very bright, however she is a disruption in class, please don't send her back)

3 - If Mary gave birth to Jesus, and Jesus is the Son, and God is the Son, doesn't that make Mary a Goddess? (Smack, go Home! Do not send you daughter back!)

I guess I always was different from the status quo in that I couldn't swallow most of what was being told to me. I didn't find out until I was in my thirties that there was a name for what I was, I am Pagan, I am a Witch, I am Wiccan and I am not alone!

So what was your childhood religious experience and do you still follow that path or another?
