I'm off and I'm leaving as well. Heading to the UP! I like going up there. Houghton (which is about 2 miles past the end of the Earth) looks like a lot of the villages along the Rhine river in Germany. Homes all nestled in on the side of the mountains, overlooking the bay and the river. Steep ass hills that I would not like to negotiate in winter! Auntie C. heats her home with a combination of electricity and wood. Up near copper harbor there is a sign showing snow fall, it is over four feet tall! I would not want to winter there.
My b-day was nice. My friend Kat, whom I've been best friends with for more than 30 years (yikes!) came over and we spent the morning catching up. S., L. and P. all e-mailed or phoned me with a happy b-day. Hubby and I enjoyed a quiet afternoon and evening together. However, my own brother and sister forgot!!! That's ok, I'll get them, I'll get them and their little dogs too!!!! (she says laughing maniacally) Toodles all, back next week sometime.
